May have found a solution that worked for me. After running spybot, malwarebytes, superantispyware hijack this, ccleaner etc. I couldn't resolve the go.google.com problem. Then I looked at c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts and it only contained localhost 127.0.0.1.
For some reason I opened spybot again and used their host editing module to look at the host file again. This time I saw that every antivirus website was listed and directed to 127.0.0.1. I selected all and deleted the entries. I then clicked on the add Spybot entries to hosts file and closed the program.
NO MORE GO.GOOGLE.COM I was able to go to symantec, trend grisoft anywhere I wanted with no issues.
