I have loaded several distros but DSL-N is the first that activted a blinking light on my wireless modem on anancient IBM Tinkpad 770. I have ASDN in the house and now I want to activate Firefox on DSL-N to connect via the web to sites of interest. I am operating from Mepis on another computer which has Firefox. and I know how to transfer a link via digital storage thru digital storage device on Serial bus. Can somebody guide this newbie on how to activate Fiirefox on my other antique computer.
I am sending this message thru Firefox which is a hotspot in the Mepis distro.
Thanks for any explicit instructions.

I'm not sure, if I understood your problem. But I assume you want to check is your internet connection is working. Can't you just ping somehing using terminal?
If everything is ok, later on you can easily install FF using package manager built in DSL.
Also, as far as I know all DSLs have firefox installed.
