Hey there,

I'm back here on Daniweb because you guys are the only one's who have helped me in the past and I've always been impressed. My kids have picked something up off the net which is causing the computer to not start up properly. The error message is "userini.exe - Application error. Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (http://www.majorgeeks.com/Malwarebyt...are_d5756.html) to your desktop.

* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* At the end, be sure to checkmark the Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad.
* Post the log back here.

Make sure that you restart the computer.

Can you please do the following.

Can you disable Windows Defender as it may interfere with the removal process. Please leave it disabled until your PC has been given the all clear.

• Open Windows Defender
• Click Tools
• Click General Settings
• Scroll down to Real Time Protection Options
• Uncheck Turn on Real Time Protection (recommended)
• After you uncheck this, click on the Save button
• Close Windows Defender

Scan with HijackThis and then place a check next to all the following, if present:

Now, close all instances of Internet Explorer and any other windows you have open except HiJackThis, click "Fix checked".

Here is my HJT log. All seems to be ok except that when I open up some web pages it gives me an error message saying "internet explorer cannot open the web page ......... Operation aborted." I just close it an it seems ok, but I'm sure this shouldn't happen in the first place. Other than that, all seems fine.
