DOS

If you use Borland then you will have to set the linked options to dos.
See what you can, remember what you need

what an idiotic rant that kid puts up...

If you don't know how to do things under Windows that doesn't mean Windows is bad kid.
It just means you're ignorant and may well be too lazy and/or stupid to even try to understand what you're talking about.

Now go back and play with your toys, try to get BGI to work under Linux and then come crying foul that that doesn't work either.

As to big graphics on Windows: the largest graphic I've so far used under Windows was a 6400x4500 (give or take a few pixels) file which was about 50MB on disk.
If that's not large enough I can tell you it's far from the limits of what Windows can handle. The current filesize limit due to using a 32 bit architecture (rather than 8 or 16 bit for DOS which imposes more limits...) is about 2 gigabytes.

I can use Linux, or Unix, or windows.
And another thing, Toys are overated. So the next time you wana
Tell me to play with my toys. Specify like, Go to Your Little Command Prompt and compile ur little JAVA Virus. And Then Be done with it.

All I did was ask a Question. I have been searching for the reason for about a year. Can't you see why I might be a little mad? O also, u Idiot.
Apparently Borland 5.0 Dosent Soupport BGI Graphics. I compile IN THE COMPILER ITSELF. I am not stupid.

Jesus Christ.

See this guy is what I have been searching for. I thank you.
You dident go all Psycho and Start jumbbling Words together (the guy below did though) then tell me to go play with my toys.

I have set all Links, and have made sure all #INCLUDES are available to me. Including Graphics.h

I also Compile in the Actual Compiler itself. It seems to give me the same error.

Keep calm guys, everyone starts somewhere
Firefox: no, its not the end all solution, it has its own issues and in time it will be just as insecure as IE, when its hit Firefox 6, if it makes it that far. Oh, and AOL pays for it, incase you didn't know.

Microsoft & Windows: If you hate it so much, move to linux, or bsd, or anything else, stop complaning and move on.
Good starting places: Gentoo Novell SUSE Fedora Core Apple

Age doesn't matter...

>>I USE Linux, and Unix. Infact I have given myself a choice at Boot-up. I can use Linux, or Unix, or windows.
Big deal...

>>And another thing, Toys are overated. So the next time you wana Tell me to play with my toys. Specify like, Go to Your Little Command Prompt and compile ur little JAVA Virus. And Then Be done with it.
This is not good; you should stop doing this kind of things...

>All I did was ask a Question. I have been searching for the reason for bout a year.
A little too long...

>>Can't you see why I might be a little mad? O also, u Idiot.
No need to offend someone...

>>Apparently Borland 5.0 Dosent Soupport BGI Graphics.
It doesn't.

>>I am not stupid.
It's possible...

If you want to do graphics under Windows, you should learn some Windows programming; it's a big difference between this and what you can do with <graphics.h>

I used to play around with Borland BGI graphic stuff more than twenty years ago, and am amazed that this thing still hangs around.

When Windoze first came out, I learned to use the Graphics User Interface (GUI) and a bunch of API calls to do graphics. I am quite sure I applied a lot of the same words that this young gentleman does now.

The handwriting is on the wall, ye olde DOS is on the way out. Bill Gates willing, give it another thirty years?!

There is a lot of overhead code with Windows, but after a while it becomes second nature. Writing fancy graphics, sounds and games is made easier with DX and other extensions. So keep a stiff upper lip and get to it! Learning all of this is fun!
May 'the Google' be with you!

No it doesn't, but it is bad anyway. Don't get me started, this is neither time, nor place for this. Besides, try to be less offensive, and try to be constructive for a change. It's easy to be rude.

It just means you're ignorant and may well be too lazy and/or stupid to even try to understand what you're talking about.

BGI does not work neither in Windows, nor in Linux because Borland BGI libraries use direct access to video hardware. This is not allowed in Pro versions of Windows, and certainly not in Linux. Use OpenGL or DirectX instead. OpenGL is not limited to the OS, while DirectX is limited to Windows only.

As to big graphics on Windows: the largest graphic I've so far used under Windows was a 6400x4500 (give or take a few pixels) file which was about 50MB on disk.

No, that's not large enough. Try working with 12GB Maya movie, you'll see why Shrek and many others (Star Wars, for example) were rendered on Linux.

OKAY. Third thread today I've had to close because of flaming/arguments, etc.

The next person I see flaming/getting ugly with someone, I'm banning. Let's watch the language, too, folks.
