This is normally my field, but I'm puzzled.
Ok, seen the other forums before need stats? ok,
Windows XP
Home edition
version 2002
Service pack 3
Computer@ Intel core 2 cpu
43-- @ 1.80 ghz(theres more ghz, not much but it isnt detected)
My graphics card is nVidia GeForce 6600GT.
Netgear wireless card.
Ok, heres the problem...
It first started off when i was wanting to play Counter Strike : Source, it wouldnt work and i got the errors hl2.exe has encountered a problem and need to close, somhow that amounted to msi.dll in my system32 folder is not a valid windows image. I have disabled auto updates, removed some stuff that could be malicious from startup, run several scans for viruses and theyre all gone. Im just getting msi.dll is not a valid windows image when i try to run almost anything. When i try to go into system restore, i click where i want to restore too, and press next, i get to the last screen before i can restore, and i press next and nothing happens.
i would rather not reinstall windows XP.
Thanks for taking a look...
James
