My buddies system would not boot up. No display on monitor and no motherboard beep. I checked the video card and it is good. So i am going to replace the motherboard. My question is he needs a lot of the stuff on that Hardrive. I would usually hook that drive up to my system and restore the info that way. The problem is I am running Windows Nemisis. I dont think that would work. Any suggestions.
Throw a spare drive into his system, 2 or 3 gig should do...
Set up his old drive as a slave...
Install an OS on the temp drive and do your backup of D...
I assume he has a burner in the system, if not borrow a drive as big as his old one...
Then copy to it...
If he was running 98 you could just leave the system the way it is and be just fine, I assume he was using XP which will gag when you replace the MB.
