Computer acting screwy!

Hello, never done this before so please be patient with me. I am looking for help with my mothers computer. It is a HP pavillion a1620n. It came loaded with "Windows XP Media Center Edition 2002 service pack 3. Intel Pentium D CPU 3.00GHz 3.00GHz, 0.99GB of RAM".
It has just recently started acting very strange. It boots ok and seems to run fine, but after a few(sometimes more, sometimes less) minutes, the keyboard will stop working (the Numlock, and Caplock, Volume, Mute, F11 still work but I cannot type anything.) The mouse will act strangeas well. The double click will open the propertys of that which was double clicked, and only by holding the left click before and during a right click can I get my right click drop down box. It had AVG (free version) on it already, and I have since added Webroot, Spybot S&D, Adaware(free version), Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, SpywareBlaster, Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool , Windows Defender, ATF-Cleaner.exe, ESET Online Antivirus Scanner, cwshredder, & HijackThis. I think that is all. I have follwed the directions from "Read me before posting a request for assistance - Viruses, Spyware and other Nasties", and am now at this point.(BTW, I rebooted to safemode with networking and have been able to type all of this without issue.) Below are the logs that have been requested. Thank you in advance for any help that you may be able to provide.

download and run sysinternal software -- autoruns and process explorer -- also check for any rogue device drivers in device manager's hidden devices

Hello Gossamer0101, hope you are still "out there". I've been away for nearly two weeks and hopefully I can get back into the swing of things here.
I would like you to reboot the computer, if you have not done so. Then run a Full System scan with HiJackThis and post that log here.

Thanks Judy. The computer has been on and off several times now and will act right for a little while but inevitably starts acting up and has to be rebooted, at which point it will be ok for a while. I think this is the HJT log you want. I will check back at least daily, Thanks again for your time and effort.

First of all I see two anti-virus programs running at the same time on the computer;
Avast4 and AVG7. You MUST uninstall one of them. AVG 7 will expire in December. If you wish to use AVG then uninstall BOTH programs and download AVG8
You really also have too many security programs running at once;
Ad-Aware, Windows Defender, SpySweeper, SpybotSD TeaTimer. SpybotSD TeaTimer and AdAware Services should be turned off for good, neither really adds protection especially and both DEFININTELY interfere with fixes. Turn off Windows Defender and SpySweeper until fixes are complete. Turn off ALL of those programs, uninstall one of the anti-virus programs, update MBA-M and do another Full System Scan with it and allow it to fix whatever is found.
Post back then with a new HJT log and the MBA-M log.

Ok, I uninstalled everything but webroot which I disabled. These are the logs that you requested. Let me know what else might be helpful. -Chris

Your logs look ok with the exception of these two items;
O23 - Service: Media Center Receiver Service (ehRecvr) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehRecvr.exe (file missing)
O23 - Service: Media Center Extender Service (McrdSvc) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\ehome\mcrdsvc.exe (file missing)
Both of these files are essential to the running of Media Center.

So what do you recommend that I do? Can I fix this from the recovery console?

They may not be missing, just disabled. Would you have disabled these via msconfig?
Your java is out of date by the way, current version is 6 update 10.
