can you start in safe mode?
enter safe mode by hitting F8 repeatedly as soon as the pc turns on, until you get to a menu
in safe mode, go to run or a command prompt and type sfc /scannow
see if that helps
if not, you will need to do a repair reinstall. For this, you will need your windows cd.
