Hi,

When i start my laptop(Dell Inspiron 5100) i'm getting the following error:
windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
"windows\system32\config\system missing or corrupt"

Please help!!

can you start in safe mode?

enter safe mode by hitting F8 repeatedly as soon as the pc turns on, until you get to a menu

in safe mode, go to run or a command prompt and type sfc /scannow

see if that helps

if not, you will need to do a repair reinstall. For this, you will need your windows cd.
