does anyone know why grapfic.h does't work on microsoft c++

no, it's a DOS extension from Borland. I've no clue about what the Microsoft equivalent was, would be part of Microsoft C 1.5 or so.

dont think ms has one as ms tends to push the use of Win32 GUI for graphics... oh, hang on, yes there is a glaringly obvious one. Direct X. You will need to download the runtime libraries from somewhere though

as a sidenote i think djgpp (c/c++) had a graphics lib with it making use of MS-DOS gfx

and then there's OpenGL which is native to C++ (including VC++).
