![]() |
If this is the only symptom you are experiencing then you shouldn't assume this is caused by a virus. These may be hidden files and shouldn't be deleted. They are hidden for this very reason, so people won't delete them by accident. What are the names of these folders? To see if this is the case do the following if you are running
Windows XP
Click Start.
Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab.
Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm.
Click OK.
Windows XP
Click Start.
Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab.
Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm.
Click OK.
