Remote Computers

Hi,
I work at a company that is about to open two new branches. I am in charge of some IT tasks, like computer maintenance. For the branches that are going to be far away. What could be the right way to access those computers remotely?

- Remote Desktop. The computers have Windows Vista Home and it doesn't work
- VNC, LogMeIn... I wouldn’t like to ask the user to open that software because I going to check the computer. Also I wouldn't like to open ports in the firewall.

I would like something safe that I can set up in the computer and that let me access it without any user authorization and without spending a fortune on it.

I appreciate any ideas

Thanks,

Yeah home can only be a RDP client, not a server.

VNC and logmein are your only other real options
If i am helpful, please give me reputation points.
