Standby problem

For the longest time I used the computer as one user. Then we changed it to two users and now my standby acts weird. If both users are logged on and I am on the new user template and want to go into standby mode, the computer will shut down but not turn off, the fan keeps going. If I switch over to the main user, the original, and I go into standby mode it will shut down normally, looks like it goes completely down, the only life is the front led is flashing.

What can I do to figure out why it won't go into standby mode with it in the new user.

Pentium 4, 3 GHz, Win XP SP2, 4GB RAM, 80GB HD, 75% full.

Thanks

Hi,
You could try:-
1. Delete the other user and then reinstall them,
2. Do a system restore to an earlier time,
3. Do a sfc /scannow
4. Do a windows repair

If you don't know how to do any just Google or ask here.
BACK-UP.........Try one of the simple solutions first........and BACK-UP......
