And I am having trouble with my computer!

Does anyone here know if I can completely redo a hard drive without EITHER the reformat disk OR a windows xp disk? My reformat disk was completely destroyed and I'd like to avoid paying 27 bucks for a new one if possible. Thanks for your help and its appreciated!

Actually I am not sure if this is even the right forum here.... nevertheless oh well, maybe someone will see the post and know if its possible to reformat the hard drive without either of those cds.. I remember in high school I had a class where we hit a switch on the motherboard and it started the whole thing over though I dont remember if it had windows and the drivers though... If I need to move this to another forum I will though

you can format it with boot disk from www.bootdisk.com, but you will need a Windows OS disk disk to reload windows !
or you could switch to a Linux OS ,its free download from the net .
