LCD Backlight is on, but no display

Hi,

I have a HP DV2130. When switched on, the lcd screen light comes on but nothing is displayed..

The laptop will boot up normally and i can plug in an external monitor. However, the laptop LCD only lights up (The back light)
Any suggestions?

Bad AC adapter and/or batt. Insufficient data for anything else.
