Internet Explorer 7 Windows Opening automatically

I have just encountered a problem with IE Windows opening. This starts when I open IE. I have McAfee but it does not find anything. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

When I click on the IE icon to open, I receive an error (unknown software exception 0xc0000409 occurred in the application at location 0x01f9c8b2). It then proceeds to continually open additional IE windows automatically. I've seen as many as 30+ windows before I was able to shut the PC down. The windows open about every second. I've since removed IE from the system and downloaded a new copy from Microsoft. It seems to have solved the problem.
