Hi,

I've got a dual Xeon 3.06Ghz box with 2Gb RAM and around 165Gb of SATA storage going free and consequently I'm looking to share the server to help with the server rental costs. Ideally the packages I'm offering below would be suitable for those with reasonable technical knowledge and would be looking for space for their home pages or to start community projects and/or forums (*).

The server itself is running Red Hat Enterprise Linux with cPanel 9.9.9 release, Rvskin and Fantastico. I've tweaked the mail set-up to be more aggressive against incoming spam (certain RBLs are used as part of that process, but I'm not using any aggressive/silly RBLs and so far have had good results with two months of testing). The server belongs on the NAC network and thus has excellent UK and European coverage.

(*) By way of trade I work in the film industry as a visual effects production systems administrator, but have had over eight years of ISP and web hosting experience. Thus, although I will provide technical support, I can do so only via email due to work commitments. I also do monitor the server (as do the datacentre staff) so any issues will be dealt with as necessary.

If anybody is interested in a package (please state requirements when emailing/PMing) then please either PM me or alternatively drop me an email at hosting@vfx.cx. NOTE: Unless there are very good reasons for doing so, I will not be handing out free accounts.
