Mouse pointer not moving

Check the following:
1. Some other pointing device in use
2. Loose connection
3. dead battery (some mice, especially wireless, have batteries)
4. Malware
5. Bad mouse (usually a bad spot in the cable, or a stuck button).
6. Dead BIOS battery.
