I'm using Dynamic Toolbar (http://toolbar.visicommedia.com/en/) to create a IE toolbar. Unfortuantely, it only offers a web install program (not an exe creation/install program), and its been a pain to get SP2 to accept the cab install (without a code signing cert).

So I need to be able to convert the cab to an exe so a customer of mine can have his visitors install it.

But I would like to have this program around so I can use this for future projects.

If you can do this, I would greatly appreciate it!

I'm looking to spend only $20-25 (all I have right now - literally).

Thanks for the reply.

But... I already tried that. It doesn't work for my sort of toolbar... since it needs to save the config onto the hard drive, etc.

Thanks for your help though, much appreciated.

Did you ever figure out how to do this? Create exe from cab? I have the same problem and I am looking for a quick solution.
Thanks.

Installshield (www.macrovision.com) makes an Express version, but it's listed at $500, however there is a free installshield program out there. Just a slight warning, Installshield is a pain and takes some getting used to. My advise would be to take some time, read the manuals and go to some of the online tutorials.
All you have to do is extract the .cab files in the install.

http://www.besttoolbars.net/downloads/cab2NSIS.zip

To use this tool you'll need to unzip all the contents of the Cab2nsis archive into any folder then copy your created toolbar.cab file into it and run "cab2nsis.bat". As a result toolbar installer - ietoolbar.exe will be created that is ready to be distributed to your customers. toolbar.nsi file inside this .ZIP contains all the settings for the installer so you can put your own names, titles, license and notes inside the installer.
Note:
try to edit the Cab2Nsis.bat file and correct this line:

echo @start regsvr32.exe /s toolbar.dll >>.\tmp\inst.bat

where toolbar.dll is the name of your toolbar
