Can anyone recommend a good merchant account gateway provider?
![]() |
Hello:
I've used a whole slew of different merchant providers in the past -- but was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on them. I can go out and compare pricing and fees and whatnot... was just curious if anyone's had a really good experience with any particular company - maybe more from a customer service / easy of use perspective.
Thanks in advance!

NorthAmerican BankCard. I tried (and got burned by) a few others, but this place rocks. Good rates, outstanding support, and people who actually (GASP!) talk to you like a human bean.
PM/e-mail me if you'd like a contact over there.

The new authorize.net rates at www.unitedbankservice.com is 2.1%, the last check $7 to open an auth account. I have been using it for a year.

When shopping around for a merchant account and gateway I highly recommend shopping around. Use the tools at Merchant Account Services to compare providers and see which is the least expensive for your business.
I recommended downloading their Account Comparison Worksheet and then using their Account Comparison - Advanced Calculator to crunch the numbers.
Hope that helps.
