I also think the mac looks pretty nice, and i'd probably consider using it if I could be bothered learning a new OS, and if more people used it. Other than that, I don't really use the PC for gaming, so that's not so much a problem.
Maybe one day i'll make the switch.

A mac? Yep, definitely, because I want to pay twice the amount for an IBM-compatible PC. Max OSX, in itself, is a great OS, but the hardware is a monetary-ripoff (in addition to being under-powered, considering it's high price).
I laugh at the MacBook Air. I computer without an optical drive... yeah, can you give me a gun so I can shoot myself in both my feet?
Maybe with Steve's current health affairs, Apple could now introduce the world's lightest chairman?
Mac OSX does everything it supports perfectly. It's a fully coherent, stable, secure, and functional system. It's only weakness is a software library comprised almost entirely of shareware.
As for the hardware:
Aside from the under-powered, over-priced monstrosity it is, it also suffers from lack of upgradibility.
These "Mac vs PC" "debates" equate to "PC vs PC".
So, intel cpu's? Yeah, I could run Windows on a Mac.
So.. I can run Max OSX on an ordinary non-apple PC? YES!

Thank you for reading. That is all. Dismissed!

I actually know a few people who have switched to Mac OSX (and by extension the Apple-sanctioned PC). When I ask them why, it's usually on the lines of "because they're so cute" or "they look so cool".
"Macs" are a fashion trend. They're PC's, for double the price, half the power, that give you much less in return. Does that sound similiar to designer-clothing?

Even a old non-x86 mac is still a PC. For many years companies have made systems with different architechture cpus like itanium, alpha etc.... in fact windows has been ported by microsoft to run on many of these, and these computers are referred to as PCs.
Mac is just a marketing term, it doesnt mean anything apart from the combination of apple hardware and software
If i am helpful, please give me reputation points.

OSx86 is illegal though, it breaks the EULA.
A large number of people pirate Windows (or run legitimate copies of certain editions of Vista on virtual machine's, even though the license prohibits such act).
Who cares?

My experience suggests that Macs are more reliable hardware-wise, but, more importantly, they aren't susceptible to the Spyware/viruses that plague Windows users. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a Mac to a new, casual user for this reason alone.
Other than that, the big difference is the sheer amount of software available to Windows users.
