The file was a virus then so you wouldn't want to restore it. It was NOT a legitimate file which should have been restored, if you had found and restored it then the virus would have been back.
System Restore wouldn't work probably because there were no GOOD restore points, that one certainly wasn't. Re-set System Restore.

Sure, but this way was a simple couple of clicks . You certain that's the correct file name?

ESET found nothing. The file association fixes did not work. Here is the ESET log:

Wierd i searched mseakfpvtd in registry again yesterday nothing. Today it found a key. 3rd time lucky i guess.

When I opened the registry file with notepad this is what it cantained

Download the attached zip file and unzip fixme.reg. Close all browser windows. Double click the file to run it and when asked if you want to merge with your registry, answer yes.
Reboot when done and check if the entries are gone.

I just ran the regsearch again 4 files now

after running the reg file the registry items have disappeared but I still get the error. I am going to search my computer for any files containing the word mseakfpvtd and any files with that name. I will post the results here

no files found containing the word or with the name mseakfpvtd i searched my computer using the search tool in the start menu
