Yet Another Online Community...
Here's my new forum site:
http://www.createforum.com/phpbb/ind...orum=compuchat
It just needs more members. Any feedback?
PS: I'm not sure how but for some reason there were 2 users online at one time and only one user(me) is registered!

aside from the suggestion i made on your site, i'd say that obviously you need to look into generating traffic into the site - maybe writing a couple of how-to articles (coding, graphics generation, hardware fix, network config...whatever), and then post them (w/permission) on other similiar websites (make sure they're not duplicates of articles already presented on the site(s) you'd like to cross-post the article on)...
...there's a ton of info here on how to generate site traffic so i'll leave it to u to peruse those threads...
...i'd look into creating a by-line or what's now referred to as a "mission statement" - generally i dislike them, only bcs theyre typically corny, too polished & very cliche-ish, but if it's well written - which doesn't necessarily mean that it needs to be long - and says something about what the site is all about and/or it's purpose then it may help ppl decide to stay longer & look around...
oh, & btw, it really PO'd me that i couldnt put in my full sig, so u may want to look into upping that 255 character limit.
Good luck!

ok, as i mentionend on ur site it looks good & u made a good call on the sig limit; naturally at this point u need to generate some content to start drawing visitors/hits.
also, after posting a reply dont have the user just hang in limbo (having to click here or there), rather have it go somewhere after a few seconds (somewhere btwn 0 & 5 seconds id say). for instance, on this site ur automatically brought right back into the thread, which isnt an option on ur site! Good Luck!

a few more things
1) i would reconsider giving users the ability to delete their own posts.
what happens is somebody who's made a bunch of posts gets po'd for some reason & starts deleting all their posts? i'd say u'd have a bunch of threads that dont make a whole lot of sense! maybe change the action to some type of automated "request to delete" (for instance, on click a form generates to enter an explantion for deletion request; if ya wanna get fancy maybe the form wud start w/radio buttons for abusive, obscene, inappropriate, etc issues (select a default) & other - on choosing "other" then a text box appears for an explanation that may not be apparent simply by reading the post) the admin or a moderator could then act on the request/flag (ie, delete post or provide feed back for denial of request. that opens a whole nother set of issues - like establishing a consistent policy for denials...personally, i'd go with giving feed back on denials initially, but as traffic increases - & the subsequent admin overhead increases as well - i'd consider dropping the feedback...just a thought
2) make a link or post (in the cc point exchange forum?) explaning what the cc point exhange is all about - btw, giving urself what's evididently the most cc points value allowed doesnt seem like fair-play!
3) create a username for urself! calling u "hey admin" is a little dry!
Good luck!
