hello,

I've been using ubuntu from a month or above.My lab instructor has asked me to make my own administrative tools.Please help me how should I began my task,actually I'm having no clue how to start my assignment.I've know core java and C/C++.

So please tell me which language should be better for my assignment.

Such as?

Put a glossy GUI in front of an existing "admin" type command such as say "quota"?

the administrative tools are to be decided by me like
1>amount of ram occupied when I play a video.
2>disk management utilities etc.
These are just common but as a part of my assignment I've to design it.But not able to understand from where to begin as I've not done any such thing.

Study other GUI enabled admin tools?

Eg, if a program has a "user" option, then perhaps this would be a drop-down list in the GUI.

And so on...
