Dev Pascal string help.

Can you search a string in Dev Pascal?

In Basic [True] you can use:

stringvar$[1:3]

However, can you do this someway without having it in a Packed Array? If you CANNOT, then how can you convert an integer into a Packed Array so I can perform this function.
