microsoft update

hi guys
Iam having a problem installing a microsoft update...NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and .NET Framework 3.5 Family Update (KB951847) x86 (update 1 of 1). it gets too 99%. it downloads that far then after a good 5 mins it comes up as failed.all other updates go on ok read somewhere about turning the antivirus off but that does not seem to work any help would be great.
