Hello, this is my first post and I have been trying to get this !$#@ hijack off my computer with NO luck. It seems others have been hijacked by the same program. I've read those logs and none of the remedies are relevant to my problem, maybe becuase I'm running Windows98? The only thing that has changed during this whole experince has been the web page that keeps popping up, it was hotoffers.com. Now it is something like "http:kon4ay.biz/k/"
Anyway, could you please see my hijackthis log, I don't know what else to do I've used HIJACK THIS, SPYBOT, AD-AWARE, KILLBOX, & SILENTRUNNERS. None of the fixes I found on the previous threads involve Windows98 (no C:\WINDOWS\System32\systr.dll to delete, etc...) Can you PLEASE HELP? Thanks!!!!

This on checks out as a coolweb vairant so please do the following then post a new log .
Download then unzip and run CWShredder to clean up clicking "FIX" to have it remove all it finds.
CWShredder available from these places :-
http://www.aluriasoftware.com/tools/cwshredder.zip
Or this as a full download without any unzipping required
http://www.downloads.subratam.org/CWShredder.exe
http://www.spywareinfo.com/downloads...CWShredder.exe
We have found that some of the CWS infections can be removed better from safe mode, rather than normal mode.
To get to safe mode use the F8 key while booting the machine. Detailed instructions from HERE

hotoffers.info is a super nasty spyware. I believe your problem stems from the file systr.dll. you will have to boot up in DOS (reboot press F8 until you get the startup menu and select DOS mode.)
Change to the folder C:\winnt\system32 and either rename or delete the file systr.dll. You may have to change the attributes on the file (attrib systr.dll -h -r -s) in order to delete the file.
After you get that file gone, you might want to run your HijackThis, ad-aware, etc for final cleanups.
Hope this helps.
