I'm sorry if this is the wrong place, but I don't see any forum here that's more appropriate. Does anybody know about how the "brief passage" exception to US copyright law applies to code?
For instance, let's say a somebody (not me) is giving a workshop on good programming practices to Computer Science students. S/he wants to use code snippets written by people she knows and/or worked with in the past. Does s/he need written permission?
Thanks. If this is the wrong place please redirect.
