It is being discussed everywhere~ The commercial is banned ~

Banned? Banned from what? I saw it last night while watching the super bowl. Why does everybody have to get their panties in a wad about trivial stuff. It wasnt that provocative, it wasnt even that funny.

No, but there are two versions on the website, the version that was aired didnt have all the jumping, it just showed the part where her strap came off.

Hi,

I think the commercial was out - of - theme with the others. While all of you single folk out there scream censorship and foul, there are those of us watching with families... kids that understand football... that do not need to see that explicit stuff, or even the innuendos.

It just further degrades women. Something they really need in our society.

I found the commercial to be hilarious.

The uncut version is way too long, i got bored in the middle of watching it. The version that was played during the super bowl was pretty good. I enjoy how it spoofed last year's janet jackson incident. I have to say that this was a good idea, and it was very funny too.

Christian, i understand your position on censorship and keeping sexual images away from children, but does that really work and how will it affect society?

1. There internet is everywhere. Even china is having problems censoring.

2. Because of the sexual revolution, sex is EVERYWHERE! You can't censor or hide it. The more we fight it, the more of an underground culture that will develop for it and the more it will become a forbidden fruit. The only thing we can do as a society is to begin embracing it.

Look at these examples, the drinking age in Europe is significantly less than the US. It's 16 in most countries, though the people were raised being taught the responsibility that goes along with drinking, thus they have a significantly lower drinking and driving death rate and everything that goes along with drinking. They have been raised to respect alcohol rather than being raised to treat alcohol as the forbidden fruit as it is in the USA until age 21.

Hello,

I think it depends on what a child is. Watching with us were 5 and 9 year olds. I think that is too soon to be exposed to that sort of conduct. Also for liquer.

Around the teenage years, I think it *IS* important to discuss topics of sex with the young adults. Also, involve them with beer and wine in the house, so that the magical spell of Alcohol is debunked.

I think of this along the lines of showing a child how to drive a car. I think pre-teen is way too young, but at some point in the teenage years, I plan on showing my young adult how to drive in a parking lot. Let them ask me the questions about it. But also show them technique and responsibility.

(I was given alcohol in church, and at the home before 21. I was also driving a lift truck working for my dad's machine shop while I was 11-16 or so. I did move the vans around on private property)

I agree that sex and booze is everywhere in the culture, and maintain that for the children viewers, let's keep the crap and innuendos off the air, especially when we know that in American culture, that famlies have parties and plan events around games like this. Had this been an episode of Law and Order, where the kids most likely aren't around, I would not have had a problem. Being a Parent can be a 24 x 7 challenge.

I agree with Christian on this one completely. I think our society has become so sick and twisted that I sometimes fear for the day that I have kids of my own. Just because our society is overridden with media that portays that "sex sells" does not mean we should be minpulated into letting our country's youth get involved in it. The fact that we have to keep an eye on everything that is broadcast on national television to make sure it doesn't imply sexual inuendos around our children is completely disturbing. Further more, the commercial was another blatent discrimination towards women. With commercials like this we constantly show our youth that they could/should strive to use their bodies to sell products. This world is constantly trying to strive for a better place to live in, but how can we do that if we limit our future potential? What I mean by this is that take the following example: A young girl/woman who is having a little trouble in school and getting some low marks, may start to have a low self esteem. Eventually attributing it to herself, when in fact it could be a poor teacher. Either way, she's already given up on her future because she sees ads on TV, magazines, billboards, practically everywhere, that shows a woman useing her body to sell a product that has nothing to do with sex, women, or anything remotely close to people at all. Now she starts thinking, "I suck at school, I start selling my body instead." Now we have the potential for another contributeable human being gone to waste.

Hi,

I what I am also having trouble with are the Levitra, Viagra, and Cialis ads. Amazing that the FCC will allow that material, but you cannot drink a beer on TV. Also notice that there are no cigarette ads on TV. Maybe it is time to do that for drugs that deal with the sexual function.

I am watching the Daytona 500 today, and have seen 5 such ads by lap 30 or so. The 500 pregame show was classy, the singers and showing the colors and such. NASCAR did their part right...
