encrypting and decryting a file in visual basic

hello, i have a problem i am trying to encrypte an xml file and decryte the file. what am doing for a comapny in canterbury kent is to create a mobile banking application in visaul basic so customer could downlaod it onto their pda using microsft ce ...which i have done but whenever a customer registers with their pin code it obviously shows as text i want it to be secured in the sense that its encrptes the password and i would be able to decrypte the password so any one can to see the passwords.... any help!!!! please i would be gratefull if anyone could help me.cheers
