Reset XP to as before Gates "Upgraded" it!

ON Nov 15 2004 Bill Gates fixed my Windows XP by downloading stuff

I tried resetting system to 1 Nov, but this DOES NOT undo the fix

(Among other things this fix stopped all my thousands of Basic progs running)

Is it time for me to reinstall XP?

I have a cd that does this - will it get me back to XP as on 1 Nov 2004?
What if there is a glitch after an hour on the cd?

Many thanks
John

First of all, it's best if you keep SP2 (I'm assuming this is the upgrade you are talking about) and try to resolve whatever problems you are having. Look through this thread and see if there are any solutions you can try:

If there are other specific questions/problems, let us know and perhaps we can help.

If you decide you really do wish to uninstall SP2, reboot into Safe Mode, go to Add/Remove Programs in your Control Panel, and remove it.
