I need help with Admin rights. I am running 10.2.8 and when I go into System/Accounts/User I am listed as the Admin, but when I go into my specifics "Let this user to Administer this computer" is grayed out and I am unable to access this. Is there any way to gain access to these grayed out sections? Please let me know.
It's greyed out because you cannot turn off admin rights within the user you're logged into at the time. This is to protect users from their own fiddling, because if they are the only user on the box (ususally an admin) and they turn this off, it's unbelievably hard to fix.
If you want to turn off admin for yourself, then you must log in as another admin or root and uncheck that box.
If you're actually an admin user, there should be a check in the check box.
