Please urgent.Help me with database coding on how to sort out into report.

Hello everyone,
please am writing a database app. basically a church management and i want to be able to filter items such as birthdays or gender onto a report,
For example;
i want the report to be able to sort out from the tables into this manner.
Name Gender
Mr Jones Male
Mr Sams Male
or
birthdays between 1st June and 31st June.
Name Birthday
Mr Jones 9th june
Mrs Smith 1st June
therefore i provide the user with a dialog to be able to
select birthdays between day and month.
All males or all females from the tables.
Hope its clear. Please if you arent that clear with this please
write back. please help its very urgent.Thank you.
