Hi, my good old father-in-law has got some issue while surfing. He was looking at downloading flash player and seems to have come across some virus or something as it wont let him use IE now.

I got him to run a HJT log. As always i would appreciate some assistance.

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (http://www.majorgeeks.com/Malwarebyt...are_d5756.html) to your desktop.

* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* At the end, be sure to checkmark the Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Download the update from here if you have problems.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad.
* Post the log back here.

use another pc to download the latest version of IE, then uninstall IE from the computer u are repairing, then go to program files and delete the internet explorer folder. then after that Install IE again. or you could just use a difrent browser like opera or firefox.

IE cannot be uninstalled.
