Hello All,

I am here to find out how do I get sounds back on the PC. I recently installed Windows again and started fresh I guess but I haven't got a clue what to do to get sounds going on. I do not have the motherboard's programs CD if there is one so I really haven't got a clue. Information of the motherboard is:

System Manufacturer: Micro-Star Inc.

System Model: MS-6704

If you need anyh other information, please don't hesistate to ask. Many Thanks :cheesy:

Best,
Nigel

First info would be windows version ,i know of about 9 different ones !!You just say you loaded Windows !
sounds like you need the drivers for you sound card ! do you know if has a addon sound card or is it a onboard sound chip .If it onboard then the motherboard model # is good ,if it a addon like a soundblaster we would need it name and model # who makes you computer !!thanks
EDIT: If this is you board you will find driver for it in the download center in the left panel .

Right Click on My Computer and go to properties. On the hardware tab select Device Manager. If you have any question marks on the page, then you have drivers missing.

If you have a question mark under Sound video and game controllers then thats your problem. You'll need to install drivers, which should be available on download from Micro Star.

If everything is present and correct check sounds and audio devices in Contol panel, check volume is set and mute is off. You can do this in volume control, select the little speaker item in the bottom right corner. Press the arrow if you don't see the icon.

Hope this helps

Sorry I assumed it was on board sound, if it isn't you'll have to open the case to see what type of soundcard you have.

Hello again,

Sorry but could you please point me in the right direction to download the correct drivers? I've already tried twice and haven't got a sound result and do not want to risk trying another.

Caperjack,

You have the correct motherboard. I just can't seem to find anything with the MS-6704 so could you please assist in finding it? :o

MartyMcFly,

I can't seem to adjust either the volume or anything as a matter of fact. It metions about not having a sound device.

I also DO NOT have a sound card after checking inside the case.

Many thanks again!

Best,
Nigel

I can't seem to find any sound drivers for it though. Here is my motherboard:
