Internet Explorer closing down after 1 second, and no toolbar

Hi,

After installing ie8, I decided to go back to ie7. All went fine, but since today it is all of the sudden impossible to use it. It closes down right after "starting up" and just before it closes I can see that there is no toolbar left either. So I cannot repair via "Tools" because it is not there! I also cannot download repair-tools because I cannot start up ie!! And I also cannot download Opera or Firefox because I can't get on the internet!!
Also, dobule-clicking on Internet Options in the Control Panel does nothing, I get no window with options.
Right-clicking on the ie-shortcut also does nothing.
To recover the toolbar, I followed the steps from Microsoft Solution Center: start - run regidt.exe - HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\ Microsoft\internet explorer\Toolbar, and there deleted ITBARLayout from explorer, just as advised. But that also did nothing.
Please HELP!!!
