How is my systems temperatur?

1. I don't have any special concern, but I was just wondering if my system/computer is overheated?
2.Is there any way of checking this out?
3.And what is the recommended temperatur for a regular system. I don't have any additional cooling/fans, only the ones that came with the system as new.

My system i a Dell 4500 from september02, I havn't added any extra parts yet. But I am thinking about buying a new hard drive - http://www.komplett.no/k/ki.asp?sku=302610&s=sc - (it's in norwegian, but the specs are the same, just roll down the page a little bit)

Thank for any help

:!: :!: Reed the two following "replys" as well :!: :!:

The new HardDrive cost 850NOK(norwegian kroner).. this is about $110.. is this a good buy? Remember:!: Norway is more expencive than other countries, so the difference has to be kinda big to make any difference.

One more thing...

I think i will expand my DDR RAM as well, while I'm at it...
Currently i have a 512MB DDR RAM. What will happen if i buy a 1024MB chip? I have heard that the faster chip only will perform at the slower chips speed, is this true? I also hear something called "DDR-DIMM", what is this? And will it work with my system?

What brand, speed and specs do you recommend?

I think you have misunderstood me a bit... i guess.... :-|
My questions are:

1. How can i check the temperature of my computer, CPU and other stuff that needs checking?

2. Is the - http://www.komplett.no/k/ki.asp?sku=302610&s=sc - a good buy/do you recommend it, or will something else be better? The price is about $110.

3a. DDR RAM -- What brand, speed and specs do you recommend?
3b. What is "DDR-DIMM RAM"? And will it work with my system that has regular DDR RAM?
3c. What will happen if i put a 1024MB RAM chip in with the 512MB chip i already have?

Oookaii!?

You can find the current case and CPU core temperature in the "System Information" located in Start/Accessorys/System tools. (i think.)

If not you can download a "temperature tracker" from http://mbm.livewiredev.com which should tell you the CPU speed, core temperatures, and core voltages. (I RECOMEND THIS.)

Puting 1024MB RAM chip in with the 512MB chip you already have should not cause any problems. DDR-DIMM ram is a different type of ram than regular DDR so i doubt it will work with your system.

Hope this helps.

That harddrive is ok, but personaly i would go for a SATA or RAID capable harddrive.

It depends what its going to be used for... (i.e. server or desktop)
