Try renaming the file (probably in safe mode) then delete it. Otherwise, use the killbox.

Download the Pocket KillBox
Unzip the file to your desktop.
Run Pocket Killbox and paste the full file path of each of the below files in the box and click on Standard File Kill and End Explorer Shell While Killing File. Click on the button with the red circle and an X in the middle after you enter each file (see the files below).

C:\WINDOWS\System32\systr.dll

Reboot afterwards if the files are successfully deleted.

If all files are not deleted, do not reboot yet. Run Pocket Killbox again and paste the full file path in the box and click on Delete on Reboot. Next click on the button with the red circle and an X in the middle. You will get a message saying "File with be deleted on next reboot, Process and Reboot now?" Click "Yes" to reboot only after the last file you enter.

Don't forget to update hijackthis too .

Here is the latest log from HJT. By the way, earleir when I tried to rename the systr.dll, it would not let me do so either. I went and looked for it again when I read your post, the dll is gone, but there is an application systr that is still there. :rolleyes: Do I need to download killbox and delete this too. it *seems* that hotoffer thing is gone...

Hi mastermirage. Couple of extra's there.

===============

Go to Add/Remove programs and remove(uninstall) the following, if present:

WhenUSave

The above could appear anywhere within the entry. Be careful not to remove any personal or system software.

===============

Download the newest version of HiJackThis; version 1.99.1. Then repost your log, either now, or after following the steps in the solution (if provided in this post). This version has features that might be more helpful in 'cleaning' up your system.

===============

Run HiJackThis then:

1. Click "Config..."
2. Click "Misc Tools"
3. Click "Open Process manager"

-

Next, while holding down the CTRL key, locate (if present) and click on (highlight) each of the following:

C:\PROGRA~1\Save\Save.exe
C:\Program Files\ClockSync\Sync.exe

Now double-check and make sure that only those item(s) above are highlighted, then click "Kill process". Now, click "Refresh", check again, and repeat this step if any remain.
===============

Run HiJackThis and click "Scan", then check(tick) the following, if present:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WhenUSave] C:\PROGRA~1\Save\Save.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [ClockSync] "C:\Program Files\ClockSync\Sync.exe" /q

Now, with all windows closed except HiJackThis, click "Fix checked".

===============

Locate and delete the following item(s), if present. Make sure your able to view system and hidden files/ folders:

folders...

C:\PROGRA~1\Save
C:\Program Files\ClockSync

-

Note that some of these file(s) may or may not be present. If present, and cannot be deleted because they're 'in use', try deleting them from "Safe Mode".

===============

Post back a new log after rebooting and let me know how everything goes.

Delete the other systr too.

Download of HJT has given me more toruble that any other thing I have ever downloaded, so I am posting the log from 199.0 version..

When I tried to uninstall Save, it asked me to uninstall clocksync and Weather Forcast first -- so I uninstalled them and then the save program, and they do not show up in my HJT log...

Here is it -- So am I all clean now?

I deleted everything as you asked me, but now when I run SpyBot, it shows me two entries:WhenU.Search and WhenU.Save..

Windows ADTool and ViewPoint keeps popping up no mater how many times I delete them through SpyBot..
