19 inch LCD TV for monitor with VGA cable

Hello,

I was wondering why my Dynex 19 inch LCD wouldn't be working as a monitor independantly?

The monitor can be used as a second one, but for some reason, whenever I try and set it as the only monitor, it says "Mode not compatible"

its a 720p with a max resolution of 1440x900, and a refresh rate of 60Hz.

I have a new desktop on the way and I was hoping I wouldn't have to buy a monitor, so I could just use this. but for some reason it isn't working..? Any help appreciated! thanks!

In what way is it not working? Can you get a picture on it from your pc at all?
