Hello Daniweb, long time no posting.

I recently assembled the computer, and installed Windows 7, and after restarting it hangs at the "Verifying Data Pool..." and with an OS CD, it hangs at the "cd/dvd boot" screen.

Intel i7 920, 2.67Ghz, D0 Stepping
OCZ Gold 6Gbs DDR3 1600Mhz
nVidia XFX GTS 260, 216SP

Only 1 hard drive and 1 DVD writer is in attached to keep it simple and quick.

320Gb Maxtor, SATA
LG DVD-RW 18x, SATA

nothing else.
