I have seen couple of hjt requests. Actually it is fairly simple to analyse your HJT log using www.castlecops.com/HijackThis.html .
Simply go to the site and for each entry in your HJT log identify to which category it belongs. e.g. if O2 then follow the next step on the site --- TonyK's BHO & Toolbar List --
Using this you can yourself analyze your HJT log.

That does work for some people but some people with problems 1.) cant go to many sites with ease 2.) how have problems with there log in the first place that that site would tell you. Celtic please make a new file for HiJack This and just for Hijack this. Also close all running programs before running Hijack this. Then post a new log.

To answer part 2 of you message -- i would recommend you take a look at that site. In fact the Hi Jack tutorial which you have added as a link, this site takes you 1 step further. I think what they do "with support from people" they identify which BHO, tasks are malacious and which one safe. So far I have almost always got a hit there for my HJT.

Tony's list (http://castlecops.com/CLSID.html) is indeed helpful, but someone new to HijackThis is best off using it with the assistance of someone familiar with it as mistakes can cause serious problems.

Celtic_moon, as suggested by OurNation, please move hijackthis into it's own folder (something like c:\HJT\hijackthis.exe), and then close all browser windows, scan with HJT and post a new log please.

Be sure all windows are closed, other the HJT, before hitting the Fix button

Go to the following location and remove the highlighted folder (if found):

C:\Program Files\Viewpoint

For every User listed under C:\Documents and Settings, delete the entire contents of these folders (not the folders themselves):

Local Settings\Temp
Cookies
History
Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5

Delete the entire contents of your C:\Windows\Temp folder.

Delete the entire contents of your C:\Temp folder (if you have one).

Do a search for *.tmp and delete all entries found.

(Note: if any of these temporary files cannot be deleted while in ‘normal mode,’ try Safe Mode.

Empty your Recycle Bin.

Reboot, close any open browser windows, scan with HJT, and post a new log please. Are you having a specific problem, or just looking to cleanup your system?

Well I was looking to just clean up my PC. But I have a problem to. When I try to search my PC for files it says Error. I can't do searches. And I do not have a Windows XP Professional disk b/c I bought this pc used about a month ago. It was running really fast when we got it. Now it has slowed down a bit. We have not put alot of stuff on here at all. I don't know what the deal is.

What exact error message do you get when you try to search?
