Hey, I don't really know what the problem is, but sometimes my computer just freezes up for no reason; I have no idea what the problem is because I run spyware scans regularly and virus scans as well. It used to happen with very little frequency, maybe once a week or so; it happened three times today -_- so I think it might be getting worse and worse. Can anybody help me? I'm sorry that it's vague, but I don't really know what's up with it. Should I just try reformatting?

Have a look at this thread, http://www.daniweb.com/techtalkforums/thread5690.html, and run the free 'online virus scan.'
Get HijackThis from here:
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/
Close all browser windows, 'Scan and Save Log' with hijackthis, copy the log, and paste it into a new thread in the Virus forum.

Could be almost anything, from software to hardware.
You could start like this:
1. Run your PC in safe mode and see if you still have the lockups.
->If you do, check your power supply unit.
-> If you don't, it's probably a hardware driver that's causing the problem.
