Recently, my AVG security showed a warning, when I opened up the AVG apparently my Email scanner is no longer active! (I don't know why)
plus, I kept getting a pop up telling me my Computer is infected with Spyware, another pop up kept springing up saying "Antispyware2010 will download now and clean it up"
I never prompted the Antispyware2110! but it downloaded and apparently found 3 Trojans, and loads of warnings, I ran a full system Scan, which found 2 viruses, and low and behold, apparently this Antispyware2010 seems to be the culprit. I completely removed the Antispyware2010 from my PC, A thing called "Resident Shield" keeps popping up, then the Antispyware2010 just pops up and automatically starts downloading its self.
Is this a nasty virus that has attacked my PC's hard drive and can it be fixed or is it best to get a new PC?
Any advice would be most welcome as I am not PC literate.

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (http://www.majorgeeks.com/Malwarebyt...are_d5756.html) to your desktop.
* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* At the end, be sure to checkmark the Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Download the update from here if you have problems.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad.
* Post the log back here.
The log can also be found here:
C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\log-date.txt
Or at C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\log-date.txt
Make sure that you restart the computer.
====
Download HijackThis Executable from here. Save it to your desktop.
Start HJT & press the "Do a system scan and save a log file" button. When the scan is finished a window will pop up giving you the option of where to save it. Save it to desktop where it is easy to access. Open the log file and then go to the format Tab and make sure that wordwrap is unchecked. Copy the entire contents of the file & paste it into the body of your post. DO NOT FIX ANYTHING YET. Most of what is there is necessary for the running of your system.

At the moment we just need to get you cleaned up.
You never updated MBA-M and I suspect that you have had that version on your pc for a while, or you never downloaded from the link I provided.
You never did an hijackthis log either.

Since Crunchie isn't here at the moment, I note you have two or parts of two anti-virus programs on the computer, AVG8 and Symantec/Norton. Since you stated that you DO use AVG then you must UNINSTALL all Symantec/Norton files. First go to Add/Remove and Uninstall ALL Symantec/Norton listings that you see there.
You cannot run two anti-virus programs on the same computer. This will actually lessen protection and may very well by why you got these infections in the first place. The rule is, BEFORE installing another anti-virus program, remove the old one.
Once you have done that then also download and run the Norton Removal tool found HERE
Then reboot the computer, if the removal instructions have not told you to do so, and run a new HiJackThis scan, save the log and post it here.
Judy
P.S. I would also advise that you Uninstall RegistryMechanic. It truly is an unneeded program and definitely shouldn't be running all the time in the background.

hi Judy Thanks, I have removed the things you said, I do not have norton any longer, I have'nt used that for a long time, and when directed to the link you gave for the removal tool, theres a list of what do I have, I don't have any of them, so have'nt done another Hijack this scan, what do I have to do now, if anything? Thanks for your support.
Do a File and Folder search for both Symantec and Norton.
Start, Search, Files and Folders. C drive, do Symantec and then do the same for Norton. Be sure to check Advanced options and have it look also in Hidden folders, System folders and Sub folders.
After that run a new HJT scan so we can be sure all references are gone for Symantec and Norton and post that log here.
