I found an old post on Mashable with 7 predictions for social media in 2009. Here is the list:
Of the seven, I can only say that #4, 6 and 7 are either true or coming true. Obviously, #1 is a given. Does anyone have any thoughts abou #2,3 & 5?

- Business networks surge as economic crisis grows
- Many free services will become defunct
- More traditional broadcast television movies on-line
- SM changes offline behavior
- Expanded SM searches for product and services
- Marketing budgets will continue to shrink
