and have a little look at the top 2 sites - you see its like most things in life if you dont know what your doing you try to blame the tools when in the right hands they have already long passed html pages - everyday you see it more and more.

I am not a member on this site, but couldn't resist when I found this thread... Flash is evil because you have no idea how to use it. RIA's are the future as the comedian below posted with some great examples.

I own and operate www.levelfourstorefront.com, a flash based storefront system, and we have had a lot of success with flash based ecommerce. As with any technology, those who use their language, think it's the best, I work with flash, so I think it ranks highly.

Fact is, flash can leverage a lot more than HTML, and if SEOing is the only issue, and I agree it is not as easy to work with as HTML, then there needs to be workarounds to fix that issue, and there are, just search for it on google.

And if someone beats flash or google to the punch on how to make flash extra SEO friendly, all the better to that rich person. In the mean time, we use our techniques to make it so. flash isn't for everyone, but neither is any technology for that matter.
