Job Description
We are seeking a Senior SQL DBA to support the SQL Server databases and ensure their performance, availability, and security. This role requires a proven track record of successfully delivering and maintaining high availability, high volume database solutions in an Enterprise Infrastructure environment. This person must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast paced, high growth environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Responsible for ensuring availability and performance of the databases that support the system.
• Work to ensure that the associated hardware resources are allocated to the databases and to ensure high resilience and performance tuning.
• To proactively monitor the database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime.
• Responsible for providing trend analysis to management team to enable them to make informed decisions regarding resource management.
• Responsible for troubleshooting and problem solving of SQL development.
• Responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases to include rollout and upgrades.
• Responsible for implementation and release of database changes according to agreed timescales and costs.
• Responsible for configuration and training of SQL replication, analysis and reporting services.

Required Skills / Attributes
• In depth SQL Server Database Administration experience including clustering.
• Experience of managing multiple MS SQL 2000 & 2005 RDBMS on large systems.
• Strong self-sufficiency and initiative working on Database projects.
• Practical experience in monitoring and tuning a database to provide a high availability service.
• Experience with Transactional SQL (T-SQL) and DTS stored procedures.
• Practical experience in managing the internal and external MS SQL database security, maintenance plans, and disaster recovery.
