I'm really quite angry with my recent brush-off from BT after reporting one of their users for spamming. The spam originated from a BT Openworld account which was used to send the spam through Yahoo's SMTP servers. Despite all the evidence that it was injected through a BT account, they insisted that it didn't and thus could not do anything.
I've just emailed them back to ask them to recheck those headers and I had even set-up my copy of Outlook with my Yahoo! account so that I could send a test message through their SMTP server to absolutely prove that I'm not making it all up and that there is indeed a BT address hidden within the headers if you know how to read them. It seems their security department needs a slap around the head and more training...
Sigh.

When I am in a helping mood, I'll take the time to report spam. Otherwise, I just don't have the time to invest in worrying about it. I admit though - it's all such a pain. Getting it, dealing with it, and apprently reporting it to
At the very least, BT could have noticed the fact that all you were trying to do was be helpful. And even if they didn't know what further actions to take, replied with a simple thank you and we appreciate your help to eliminate spam being sent from our servers.

They eventually admitted they were wrong and have now apparently taken some action - whatever it is they can't say (obviously due to privacy laws or somesuch).
But what gets me is that it came from their data security team, which does not inspire much confidence in me if they cannot seem to read simple headers.
