Transgaming Inc. have announced their forthcoming product, called Cider. This will allow Intel Mac users to effectively run Windows-based games within OS X without any modification to the original game. Therefore, it should be possible to run games such as Half-Life 2 on a Mac without (a) buying a copy of Windows and (b) not having to use something like Boot Camp to dual boot and (c) not using virtualisation technology to do it.
Transgaming, as we may remember, was responsible for bringing Cedega to Linux, and does the same - brings Windows games to the Linux platform without any modification.
