I built a webapp called txtFeeder, its a free website that allows you to read the web via txt messages on your mobile phone. I built it so I could stop paying $20/month in data charges. It works great. I've been trying to get some people to test it. Its free, and I'll listen to any feedback, feature requests, or any other comments anyone has. I'd love to know what poeple think.

On your registration page, put "/><PLAINTEXT> in the username input field. Make sure you use htmlentities(). (I love doing that)

Also, the site has 63 validation errors. Not relevant, but I do it most sites I look at.

As for the site, how does it work on your end? I mean, do you send the messages to them, or is there a third party software here?

Thanks for the response. I send the messages myself, there is no use of any 3rd party software. Your phone number is never given out, sold or spammed, and you'll only recieve texts from my service when you want. It even tracks your usage, so if you don't have unlimited txts, you can see how many you've sent/received using the system.

Carriers seems a little limited - is 'Orange' supposed to be there or is it called something else?

Technically a text is just an email. So the texts are actually coming from an email address. Similar to how facebook allows you to update things via txt msgs. Having a short phone number like Google does, or like that KGB service on TV commercials is called a 'shortcode' and costs over $5000/month from what I've heard. Unless I get alot of users, and can somehow make money from ads off the site, I don't plan on getting one of those.

I built it with the main US carriers in mind. I have not heard of 'Orange'. Is it US based? In theory my service would work with international numbers, though I have never tested it. The current signup won't work for other countries, let me know what country your in and I'll create your account manually. I'd love to expand, if your willing to test it out!

Thanks K, Orange is one of the biggest ones in Europe. I'm in the UK. I hate mobiles, but have a Blackberry to receive emails, so I don't tend to text very often.

I occasionally do some web work for our school and we've been looking to use txts to contact parents via bulk mailing, but have yet to find a viable option.

Found two small issues:

1. App rejected my 6 character password, though error message says
"Password must be at least 6 characters."

2. "Pasword" is misspelled twice on "Change Password" tab.

Otherwise, great app!
