Windows XP - Slow Boot-Up

Apr 26th, 2005
For about a week now, my computer has been taking longer and longer to start.

When I turn it on, it goes to the loading screen and completely freezes without the loading bar moving. After about a 2 minutes, the loading bar will finally appear and start moving, then freeze again. It is usually still another 2 minutes or so from the second freeze before XP completely starts up.

I've run every popular adware/spyware program, along with all the web based virus scans.

Here my my hijack this log.

Depending on how new your computer is and how much RAM you have you might be having some overheating issues. You also might want to try disabling some items in you start-up that will help a little. you also might have spyware issues and viral issues as well. Make sure you have you AV up to date and get a spyware remover such as Adaware

I've gone through all the anti virus methods and removed everything they found. It still takes ages to boot up, and ideas?

Run your anti virus and your adware/ spybot. Dont always rely on them doing there job by themself. Run manually.
Try Running Defrag and doing a clean up. Some Problems are just hardware probs. I know because I bought a HP. Been for repair 3rd time in 18 months. Thank god for extended warranty, when one buys a LEMON. When my lemon goes for repair 5 months old they say fixed it. Comes back not working. Send it back, Prob fixed. Yes it was for the 12 months warranty then goes again. Now on extended warranty cant find problem reseated all working yours again. This comp had new on/off switch? this comp had another on off switch plus motherboard replaced. this comp had reseating. HOPE You DON"T HAVE A LEMON TOO.

No computer is EVER a lemon; remember that. You can have a statisically high number of bad parts, but each can easily be replaced.
