Computer overclocking...??help....!!!!

can anyone help me how it is being done??
should it be necessary for my computer to overclock??
what was the advantages and disadvantages??

Overclocking in not to be undertaken unless you know the limits
of your system and you fully understand the risks.
The most obvious disadvantage is that any warranties you may have will
be invalidated.

But it's good fun anyway . I bought my AMD 940 Black Edition quad core and other parts new and went straight into a 20% overclock (after lapping the IHS ).
The 940 BE runs at 3000Mhz stock and I have had mine up to 4000Mhz.
At the end of the day though, if you cannot afford to break it, leave it alone .
